5 Tips to Pick Yourself Up - Aashi Beauty

If there is one thing all humans can agree upon, it’s that everyone has days where they feel down. In moments like this, it’s easy to get caught up in the negative aspects your mind may lead you to. However, that doesn’t mean your entire day needs to go to waste! You can feel down, and still take care of yourself. After all, if you don’t take care of yourself, who will? Here are 5 ways you can pick yourself up, when you’re feeling down:

  1. Spend Time in Nature

Your environment has an impact on your mental and emotional health. If you’re feeling down or anxious, going for a walk outside and immersing yourself in nature help calm your mind. Allow yourself to completely surrender to the outdoors, take deep breaths and release the thoughts that are weighing you down. Nature can be soothing and healing!

  2. Find a Way to Release & Relieve your Thoughts

Our brains are constantly running with ideas, thoughts, memories, and emotions and it can be challenging to navigate through it all. Finding a way to release this and relieve your thoughts can be a game-changer! Especially on days you’re feeling off, releasing can help you find the clarity you might need. A few easy ways to navigate your thoughts could be through journaling, answering specific questions, brain dumping, or recording a video/voice note of you sharing your thoughts. Alternatively, you could speak to a friend or family member. Regardless of how you choose to release it, it’s important to find ways to do so that work for you.

  3. Treat Yourself

When you’re feeling down, sometimes the best way to pick yourself back up is by doing the things that bring you pure joy and happiness. Treat yourself to comfort food, listen to your favourite song and dance to the beat, watch your favourite movie, or spend time with a loved one. Sometimes the smallest things can change your mood, for the better.

  4. Allow yourself to R&R

Sometimes, all you need is a little bit of relaxation & rest. In a world where we are constantly on the go, it’s important to remind yourself to take a breather, be in the moment, and relax. Also, there is no need to judge yourself on the days you need some rest. If you aren't taking care of your body, you will constantly feel tired and low energy. It’s magical what a nap and 8 hours of sleep can do for you!

  5. Gratitude list

Lastly, if you’re feeling down, it’s easy to get caught up in the negative aspects of your life. Instead of focusing and dwelling on the negatives, write a list of things, accomplishments, memories, and experiences that you are grateful for. Practicing gratitude can boost your energy and mood. Appreciate the good things that have happened in your life.

Spending time in nature, finding a way to release & relieve your thoughts, treating yourself, resting and practicing gratitude are all ways you can pick yourself up, on days you’re feeling down. It’s important to have self compassion, while you’re trying your best!
